Engineering Report
Kelly Cole Reporting
Kelly Cole officially took over the engineering duties today. Due to entering sim, the main stats will be collected during the afternoon generator-refill. Therefore, they will be collected again resuming tomorrow at 1400 to get the reporting schedule back on track. No stats were collected this evening, except for the running gasoline gallon and toilet flush counts.
Gasoline Generator:
Gasoline Consumption: 10.5 gallons since 4pm yesterday.
We ran out of gasoline twice - once last night at 2300 and again this morning at 0700, just before the set time to refill. We will be keeping a closer watch on the gasoline levels. On a brighter note, the generator has been working fabulously without anymore power surges even though the water- heater has been on all day.
Oil Level: Good - Lindsay and Kelly changed the oil today at 1345.
Propane Tank Level: 70% (yesterday's)
Water:
These are the same numbers as yesterday. New numbers will be reported tomorrow.
Outside Level: 266.63 gallons remaining
Inside Tank Reading: 9 gallons remaining
Water Consumption: 35 gallons consumed
GreenHab:
Grey-Water Level: 33% with bubbles (yesterday's)
Note: Nix the count from yesterday. It actually turned out to be 16. I'm sorry about the misscount. Today's flush count is 17.
HVAC: There is nothing new to report.
Transportation: We were unable to get the battery charger working properly, and so could not charge either of the two dead batteries. ATV #1 is in working order and ATV #2 is completely dead. We were unable to remove the battery from ATV #3 because the screws were so corroded that they were stripped and cannot be taken out, however, ATV #3 clicks when the ignition is turned, implying that perhaps it could be jump started. Shannon nixed this idea, based on the fact that we would still only have two functioning ATVs and three is necessary for all of our EVAs, making it rather pointless to spend so much time on the situation. As Shannon sent out earlier today, all three keys to the ATVs match up. The PEV "Aonia" was the alternate means of transportation, seating three fully dressed Martians.
Mars-Suits: Today was the first EVA in sim, and thus the first real test of the suit status. We have discovered that the fan in pack #2 is unreliable (it shuts off sporadically) and that suit #4 is completely irreparable.
Computers & Network: There is nothing new to report.
Data Logger: We will go to the observatory tomorrow to look for the proper serial plug required for operating the HOBO weather station.
