Log Book for March 25, 2005
Commander's Log
Jan Osburg Reporting

We had a very active schedule today, with four EVAs and an all-day visit by a two-man team from the History Channel - they seemingly consider us "Modern Marvels", or at least deem us suitable to appear on that show ;-)

However, the visitors did not affect our research program, and (including the emergency in-sim effort to fix the GreenHab last night) we had a total of four successful EVAs today. I am especially glad that Kyle got the APRS up and running now - this will greatly facilitate our balloon and repeater experiments next week.

At the end of our long and cold EVA12, it was particularly nice to come back to the hab and find MDRS-made pizza waiting for us, to be followed by fresh-baked raisin bread and John's special apple cobbler. But before I got to enjoy dinner, I first had to give a tour of the hab for the media crew to record, and Rebecca was likewise asked to set up random science gear in the lab area and look scientific for the camera.

Now everyone is so tired that we all agreed on postponing the movie planned for tonight to tomorrow, just to be able to get some rest... It was a busy day on simulated Mars, but fun and rewarding nevertheless.

Signing off for today,

Jan Osburg
Commander, MDRS Crew 37
