Commander's Check-In
Jan Osburg Reporting
EVA: no EVAs today
Crew Physical Status: excellent and well-rested – we even had time for an afternoon nap.
Brief Narrative of Today's Results: The day started out with two great successes: Kyle managed to hook up the weather station to the hab computer, and Rebecca and Heidi found all GreenHab tanks as well as the toilet flush tank at their nominal level, thus validating the outcome of our GreenHab repairs yesterday.
Even more was accomplished before we sat down for lunch: Doug reshaped the secondary airlock so it now closes right, and installed an internal locking bolt (fashioned from a huge nail we found) to keep it closed when needed. And Rebecca connected the data logger to the newly installed water meter, so now we should have minute-by-minute water consumption records.
For lunch, John cooked eggs and we put them on top of Heidi's home-baked bread. After our afternoon nap, we set up the gear for the balloon research project.
Plans for Tomorrow: Easter Egg hunt and Easter service, more balloon prep in the afternoon, and likely an EVA – the crew is itching for one.
Report Transmission Schedule: hopefully earlier tonight since tonight is another movie night
Maintenance: see engineering report
Inventory: a preliminary inventory list was transmitted to Mission Support and Crew 38.
Miscellaneous: Everything is copacetic.
Support Requested: We will likely need more water soon (the GreenHab problems along with the media visit and cleaning the hydration system cost us a lot of water). I'll put in a formal request tomorrow after we have more detailed numbers, but the generator refill team today reported lower than expected levels of the external tank.
More to follow.
