Log Book for April 3, 2005
Commander's Check-In
Bill Clancey Reporting

Weather: partly cloudy, persistent winds from south, high 23c

Crew Physical Status: dry and warm, Frank Schubert yet to arrive

Brief Narrative of Today’s Results: We arrived at MDRS about 1030h and proceeded to unpack, giving priority to food. We filled both refrigerators and have four styrofoam containers with vegetables on ice and several boxes of root vegetables. We found the hab to be in very good condition. We unpacked personal gear and continued setting up our satellite dish network and robotic systems. We interacted with Paul Graham throughout the day, who patiently worked to perfect the new electrical system (six hours beyond his planned departure).

EVA: none

Report Transmission Schedule: brief journal entry later

Maintenance: we filled the new diesel generator just before 1800h

Inventory: full to the brim

Plans for Tomorrow: briefing at 9 am to review status of systems; most likely work indoors due to anticipated thunderstorms in the area

Miscellaneous: new breadmaker works well

Support Requested: please respond to questions sent by email

Bill Clancey
Commander, MDRS Crew 38
