Commander's Check-In
Melissa Battler Reporting
EVA: We had our first EVA today! All crewmembers received suit training, then five suited up, and we all went on a pedestrian EVA, north on Hab Ridge to the oyster bed.
Crew Physical Status: Everyone is healthy and happy.
Brief Narrative of Today's Results: Today we met with Don, and then had a meeting to discuss Andre's documentary goals, crew roles, mission priorities, and our research projects. We then completed our EVA training, ate lunch, and donned space suits for our first semi-in-sim EVA. The crew enjoyed a hands-on introduction to the geology and biology of the area. Tonight we will begin our science lecture series, with an introduction to Astrobiology talk given by John and Melissa.
Plans for Tomorrow: Tomorrow we will start our in-depth biology and geology training, in the field and in the lab. This will involve one or two EVA's to areas as yet undetermined. We will also finalize our training schedule and rough 2-week plan.
Report Transmission Schedule:
1. Commander's Check-in, 19:00
2. Engineering Report, 19:30

Maintenance: Danielle did some maintenance on Wendy's day tank; see Engineering Report for details. Tire pressure checked on all ATVs, and tires filled on ATV #1 and #3.
Inventory: Plenty of food, however we haven't yet received biology supplies which we're expecting at Whispering Sands any day now.
Miscellaneous: The crew had an excellent day, and look forward to learning more tomorrow! We also plan on enjoying the full moon tonight!
Support Requested: Need advise on how to better care for plants in the Green Hab; they're not doing well.
