Log Book for March 10, 2006
Journalist Report
Guido Meyer Reporting

My radio reporting ended today, and my "Martian/Lunar chronicles" are complete.

Here's an overview of all the 7 episodes of my "diary" on DLF/public radio (in writing, photos plus audio on demand):

http://www.dradio.de/dlf/programmtipp/vorschau_dlf/473358/

Another station, Wilantis - The Science Radio, aired my "tour through the Hab" again today (in a shorter version) -- text and audio.

"FOCUS Online," the online service of the weekly newsmagazine "Focus," published an article and photos about emergency drills today.

There will be 2 more stories on this site, one on Saturday (about terraforming) and the last one on Sunday (about us "flying" back home).

There will be a couple of more reports coming up: a 30-minutes-broadcast about the whole mission "Artemis" (on the air on March 27th and 28th), an article for a weekly German newspaper, another one for the weekly astronomy magazine "Astronomy Today", a 5-minute-piece for the sister station of DLF, DLR in Berlin, and a 10-minute-portrait of one or two of the crew members (haven't decided yet which one).

Since it snowed last night, Commander Kokh has stopped working on covering the tunnel with the green snow fence fabric. We're all hoping Crew 46 or 47 will continue the work. But it's almost done anyway. Since Executive Officer Laurel Ladd hasn't been feeling well today, Peter wouldn't have had time for tunnel projects anyway since he is busy with a cooking project right now.

Crew astronomer Ben is still trying to get the Musk observatory up and running. He's tried to talk to the printer as well, but with no response. Looks like "Big Blue" and "Lexmark" are the casualties of this mission.

Steven was able to make sure that Wendy - the generator -- wouldn't become another casualty although it needs to run more often and longer than before to power up the batteries.

William finished his psychological research work today. We all handed in the surveys which we had been filling out twice a day for the last two weeks.

Four of us must leave tomorrow because we don't have the Blue truck to rely on. So this will be our last Journalist Report.
