Commander's Check-In
Kevin Sloan Reporting
Crew Status: The crew is in good conditions, but working busily to debug current power issues and catch up on reports and other work.
Hab Status: We are currently in a chaotic power situation. We are busily working with Mission Support in attempts to have suitable power working as soon as possible. More details about the resolution of this situation can be found in the Engineering Report.
Daily Summary: At 8:30 Crew 50 arrived at the Hab to continue the second half of its handover training from Crew 49, and by 10:00 we were officially tenants of MDRS. For two of us it is a welcome return, and for the other six an exiting inaugural visit lies ahead. The day has been very busy, with the crew actively engaged in EVA training, mission planning, and the ever popular generator/power systems problem tackling. We also had a visit from two photographers, who will be back tomorrow for more shooting.
Report Transmission Schedule: Because we lost power for a good portion of the afternoon, we are a bit behind on our work, and as such, with the exception of this report, all of our other reports will likely be submitted after the Mission Support comm window closes. We apologize for the rough start with our reports – we'll try not to make a habit of it.

Support Requested: To Shannon Rupert -- If you have them handy (I realize this is probably asking to dig way back into your files), could you forward to our crew the field geology and biology primer guides that we developed during Crew 25? A couple of member of Crew 50 are interested in them.

Commander, MDRS Crew 50
