Crew 169 Commander
06 May 2016 – Sol 5
Greetings from mars. Today we couldn’t have our EVA because we didn’t received our confirmation for problems with the internet. Orson need to reprogram a new EVA.
The group had pancakes and coffee for breakfast. Marcos and Jeel are in charge of the cooking and Nolver and I of the cleaning. After that we had a little meeting to give some extra homework.
Marcos wrote a chapter for an emergency manual and took photos inside the hub to make a guide for future crews. Luis finished a design of the hub in Solid Work to make in the following days a simulation in Ansys and found the GPS so he is configuring those. Nolver made a digitalized inventory of all the chemistry thing and found a microscopy and stereoscopy. Orson started with the redaction of his chapter for our book and made recover somethings that flied because of the strong winds. Celeste installed the last two servomotors to her rover and it has a good performance of its movement. Jeel made a protocol to read the samples that he took yesterday and read them at the afternoon, finding interesting bacterias as Streptococcus sp, Trychosporium sp, and Sthaphylococcus sp. He sterilized some instruments and installed the microscopy and the stereoscopy. I took data and followed the program of my system. I found that everything is working well, because the level of humidity show that it isn’t necessary irrigate and the electrovalves never allow the water fluid.
Everything seems to be working well with our projects so we hope to collect a lot of excellent data to make the best conclusions.
Luis and Nolverth are making the dinner and Orson came back from outside the Hab, where he found a water leak behind the bathroom, we are worried about that.
