I am an engineer at Google. In my spare time I do robotics. I live in Santa Rosa, California.
JUDAH EPSTEIN - ENGINEERING TEAM
Judah has participated on MDRS research teams as Commander / HSO of Crew 84 and
97, and Crew Engineer / Executive Officer of MDRS Crew 78. Thereafter, he
continued to support operations as part of the
Engineering Team. He has a broad depth of experience with
education of B.S. Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University,
and from University of Texas at Dallas; M.S. Management/Entrepreneurship and
M.S. Geosciences with a focus on Hydrogeology and thesis of "Sedimentary
Water Filtration in a Planetary Environment". Judah has worked
throughout the USA and internationally (Siberia, Canada, Europe, offshore
Africa) on downhole robotic tools for horizontal well conveyance of perforating
explosives and geoseismic logging operations as Field Engineer / Engineer In
Charge / International Field Engineer in the oilfield.
Judah also serves as a part-time Deputy Sheriff and as 2LT in the TX State Guard (currently in Medical Unit & previously Military Police). He is active in the IEEE (Electrical Engineers), serving on the IEEE-CVT Board and previously as Chairman/Founder of his collegiate branch. While working in the oilfield, Judah was Chairman & Founder of the Central Arkansas Study Group of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. And while a student at SMU, Judah interned in the Robotics Laboratory working on the Pneumatic Haptic Interface System and also competed on the Varsity NCAA Division 1 Tennis Team.
MIKE LOTTO - ENGINEERING TEAM
Mike Lotto is currently pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He will also receive a minor in Geological Sciences. In support of his academic education, he is also gaining real-world experience as a cooperative education student at NASA's Johnson Space Center. He's also been very active in activities outside of work and school. To begin, he's been a member of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space since his freshman year. He's also led the development of a microgravity experiment, which he then operated on board NASA's reduced gravity aircraft, the "Weightless Wonder." Lastly, he served as engineer for Crew 108 at the Mars Desert Research Station, and it was among the best experiences of his life. His passion for space exploration truly drives his life. Looking to a future career, Mike intends to support future exploration missions from NASA's Mission Operations Directorate.
