Log Book for February 28, 2004
Final Geophysics Report
Louise Wynn Reporting

Introduction: I am beginning to collate the data I have collected over the past two weeks, as reported in earlier geology and science reports.

I have charted the geophysical data with descriptions of some of the locations where they were measured. I recorded readings here in the order I made them, not according to their positions on the map. Waypoint numbers correspond with my GPS readings and Crew 24's waypoint numbering system; those with no number are copied from another person's GPS unit. The waypoint numbers have no further significance.

Future Plans:

I will be conducting lab studies of the samples and then relating the geophysical and geochemical data with the geological descriptions of Crew 24's geologist Kyoichi Sasazawa and geologists from previous crews.

Acknowledgments:

Thanks to all the members of Crew 24 for accommodating me as we went on EVAs, stopping frequently and waiting for me to kneel in the red soil of Mars to take readings with my trusty scintillometer (measuring for radioactivity) and magnetic susceptibility meter (measuring for iron content).

Thanks to Crew 24 Commander Digby Tarvin for giving me so many opportunities to work on this project and encouraging me in every way.

Thanks to the members of the Remote Science Team for the support they have offered. I am looking forward to working with some of them to further our understanding of the geologic history of the area.

Thanks to Dr. Robert Zubrin and The Mars Society for giving me the chance to do this work.
