Commander's Check-In
Reece Lumsden Reporting

Crew Status: The crew are physically tired but remain motivated and in high spirits.

Daily Recap: Today we entered our first of three days in full simulation conditions.

This morning we had a power overload, causing the circuit breaker on the generator to trip. While I feel that we came up with the right methodology to solve the problem, we unfortunately didn't extend our reasoning far enough back. The issue was with the generator and that was not something that we had factored in, thinking the issue was somewhere internal to the hab. After getting back up to full power with the assistance of Mission Support (Don Foutz) we conducted two afternoon EVAs in parallel. One EVA conducted on foot by Susmita and myself saw us walk to a site, collect some fossilized oyster shells and return to the hab. The other EVA involved Jamon and Richard riding the ATVs to various locations some distance from the hab and assessing their suitability for the deployment of Edwin Looseveldt's prototype rover.

All EVAs were completed by 1800, afterwhich the crew sat down to dinner and writing reports on the day's events.

Tomorrow's Plan: Our EVAs will increase in complexity and scope. Our main aim is to leverage off of previous crews experience and to gather further knowledge of previously visited areas.

Daily Reports: The standard reports should be in on time tonight around 2230.
