Route: Hab to Lithe canyon
Equipment: Camera, Maps, Rock Hammer, GPS, Sampling Kit
Objective: A film crew from August Films visited us today recording a documentary on human Mars explorations. They have been filming several different scientists, engineers, and politicians for their documentary. They stopped here at the MDRS to film footage of what it will be like to live on Mars. The entire crew was enthusiastic at the opportunity to become movie stars. The film crew followed us on our EVA today. We lead them to Lithe Canyon that provides several different types of backdrops for their story board. Reece, and Susmita, where interview to express their opinions on the political environment, hazards of space travel, and major obstacles for a manned mission to Mars. I was quite excited at the opportunity to participate. During our visit to Lithe Canyon we found some cyanobacteria in rock which turned out to be a special treat to add to the documentary.
