Panoramic from a zero-zero co-ordinate East of Hab. Center of the photo is North, The Henry Mountains are to the South, and Candor Chasma winds away to the East.

Lealem starts EVA-8 with a Sklar FDM panoramic photo.

Lealem is happy to be in the field

Endoliths exposed after calcite crystals are chipped away from mudstone at the mouth of Candor.

Olathe samples a massive nodular gypsum vein in the wall of the Chasma.

Close-up of the massive nodular gypsum vein.

Soft friable gypsum chunks are found further down Candor - looks like it could contain halite - but does not taste salty back in the lab.

Gypsum crystal layer, overlaying nodular gypsum with - tastes salty - halite!

Cyanobacteria growing in recent calcite evaporate deposits near mud puddle - we are doing rock-paper-scissors for who will taste it.
