Geology Report
Curtis Iwata Reporting

Project: Testing Equipment
Personnel: Curtis Iwata & Dean Liao

Operations/Data Collected: Tested Equipment with the EVA Suits
  • Geometrics G-856 Magnetometer - We successfully recorded a few data points
  • Geonics Land Conductivity Meter - We initially had some difficulty tuning the device. Because the data collection unit is not working, we logged some data points around the Hab
Sampling:

Technical/Equipment Issues: We either need to wear the equipment harness beforehand because they don't fit over the helmet and backpack or we will need to come up with a creative way to carry these bulky devices.

Discussion/Next Step:
  • Learn how to use the software that is associated with the Magnetometer.
  • Scout out a location to do the surveys.
  • Create a grid map to take the measurements.
Questions for RST: Hi, how's it going?

Plans for Tomorrow: We will be walking/driving around to scout out an area of interest.
