Log Book for March 24, 2007
Commander's Check-In
Emily Colvin Reporting

Crew Physical Status: Catching up on sleep a bit.

Time Departed for/Returned from EVA: No EVA

EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: No EVA

Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: It rained most of the night and morning, so everyone stayed in again (I had visions of muddy suits).

Plans for Tomorrow: Tomorrow was tentatively our day off, but I have a feeling the guys may want to get out of the hab for some geology work. So right now, we don't have any really concrete plans.

Report Transmission Schedule: Commander's Log by 2000, Engineering Report by 1900, GreenHab Report by 2100, Journalist's Report by 2100

Maintenance: Lots! Since everyone was stuck inside today, we went to work. Erik and I worked on the DC-to-DC converters and the power meter (we're missing parts for both, unfortunately), Elizabeth and Curtis worked on inventorying engineering (spreadsheet format with items labeled with our crew number and an item number), and Dean and Jonathan worked on the GreenHab. Jonathan was going to check the wiring for the outside water pump, but we discovered that the DC cutoff doesn't actually cut off the 24V power anymore, so this was put on hold until we can get the DC fusebox to a safe condition.

Food/Essential Supplies Inventory: We found 1.7 blocks of mozzarella, so we're all good for food. The equipment we are missing for the DC-to-DC converters is terminals to connect the 6ga wire to the units. Some copper terminals were located late in the day, but I'm not sure if they'll work - I doubt it. The power meter is missing the square connectors that plug into the sensor and have screws to receive the cable and I'm not sure if the temperature sensors rely on a specific cable resistance, so I'm waiting to make them longer until I hear back from Brand Electronics about it.

Miscellaneous: I think everybody feels pretty accomplished with what they've been working on. The inventory of engineering should help IMMENSELY. And if I can get all of the electronics working, it'll be great.

Support Requested: If we could get the stuff we need for the electronics and one of the diesel generators, that would be awesome.
