Log Book for March 26, 2007
Commander's Check-In
Emily Colvin Reporting
Crew Physical Status: Tired and probably a little dehydrated, as usual, but there was ice cream.
Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: Dean, Curtis, and Elizabeth went out to get some resistivity measurements of the ground in the area around the HF antenna with Erik as HabCom. Jonathan, Paul, and I worked with Bob McNally and spoke to some 4th graders in New Jersey. We've confirmed that you can do some limited webcam and speech over the internet connect - the webcam refreshed every second or a bit longer than that, and the speech blips a bit, but we were able to make it work, and I think the kids thought it was cool.
Time Departed for/Returned from EVA: Departed: 1059, Returned: 1303
EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: See EVA report
Plans for Tomorrow: A geology EVA further from the hab, using one ATV pulling a trailer, in the morning. A possible EVA to lay out the ground plane for the HF antenna, hopefully some tests of the HF and rover, and working on the DC-to-DC converters.
Report Transmission Schedule: Engineering is already in, CDR's Log by 2000, Geology Report by 2100, EVA Report by 2100, Journalist's Report by 2100, GreenHab by 2100, HSO by 2100, Pictures by 2100
Maintenance: Jolly Green was loaded onto a trailer, hauled to Hanksville, and unloaded to return the trailer to the Hab. There was also a water resupply, since we were using our big truck to haul the generator.
Food/Essential Supplies Inventory: Doing good!
Miscellaneous: The day was a bit odd with the Mars Ed in the middle of it and the trip to Hanksville to drop off the generator and pick up a water resupply. We've also determined that I am not particularly talented at backing trailers up.
Support Requested: None
