Log Book for March 28, 2007
Commander's Check-In
Emily Colvin Reporting

Crew Physical Status: Everyone's doing good!

Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: In the morning, the antenna was repaired and the ground plane laid out and held down with rocks. In the afternoon, more resistivity measurements were taken and the DC-to-DC conversion system wiring was begun. The rover was also worked on, and can now run around and look at things.

EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: See EVA report.

Time Departed for/Returned from EVA: Departed 1624; Returned 1810. Morning EVA was not in sim.

Plans for Tomorrow: Finish the DC-to-DC system (with testing and full operation, crossed fingers...) and pull cable for the water meters and a temperature sensor in the GreenHab. The inventory will be continued. One crewmember has a test. We are scheduled to work with some students at the Lovett School in Atlanta, but we're not sure of the schedule on that. GreenHab maintenance will be continued, as will the lights for the observatory path. Basically, just lots of random stuff that needs to be done.

Report Transmission Schedule: Engineering Report: as soon as Jonathan comes back inside and fills it out. CDR Log by 2000, Journalist Report by 2100 (wishful thinking, probably), EVA Report by 2100, Geology Report by 2100, GreenHab Report by 2100, Pictures by 2100

Maintenance: The wiring for the DC-to-DC converter was begun - the jumpers have been crimped and soldered, and we've begun connecting them to the units. Not the prettiest job ever, as I'm still learning, but they're electrically and physically sound, with the non-ring parts of the terminals wrapped in the appropriate color of electrical tape. The connectors for the power meter pulse channels have been requested from Brand Electronics and should be here in a day or two, hopefully.

Food/Essential Supplies Inventory: Paul should be bringing us some PTT buttons, and we discovered a hidden box of hot chocolate! A good inventory of the food supplies should be ready in another day or two for Crew 61.

Miscellaneous: It was a good day, and we were happy for better, if chilly, weather. We also had a family of what appeared to be tourists stop by. I told them we were in a closed sim and that we didn't really have anything interesting we could show them anyway (our stuff's not flashy or anything, and no one was suiting up or anything), and they left politely. It just caught us really off guard.

Support Requested: None
