Geology Report
Curtis Iwata Reporting

Project: Data Collection

Personnel: Curtis Iwata, Dean Liao, Elizabeth Tan

Operations / Data Collected:
  • Collected data points around the HF antenna with the magnetometer and conductivity meter to see if there is any difference in the measurements after the ground plane was installed.
  • Collected magnetometer readings along the road from the hab to the intersection of the hab street and Lowell Highway.
Sampling:

Technical / Equipment Issues: Calibration of the Conductivity meter does not bode well when done next to its metallic case.

Discussion / Next Steps:
  • Now that we've taken measurements of the HF antenna area with the antenna and with the ground plane, we want to take measurements after the antenna is removed so that we can make comparisons. We will wait until the antenna comes down, which will be after end sim.
  • There's a spike near the hab that we believe is the septic tank. We might take points in that vicinity to see if we can clearly define its edges.
Plans for Tomorrow: Take readings around the hab and possibly a remote location.
