Commander's Check-In
Chip Shepherd Reporting
Crew Physical Status: Excellent overall. Occasional crewmember needs Flexium Gel.
Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results: Conducted EVA to walkback from asimulated ATV/Rover breakdown. Tested EVA backpack battery life. Performed maintenance around Hab. Resupplied fuel for generator, brought Paul needed items from the Hab and helped him pack up his van.
EVA Narrative/Data/Interpretations: 2.5 Km walkback successfully accomplished. Backpack #2 was tested and lasted over 8 hours.
Time Departed/Returned from EVA: 3:00 departure. 6:00 return.
Plans for Tomorrow: Conduct suited ATV training for crew at nearby ATV training field. Conduct afternoon EVA to simulate injured crewmember.
Report Transmission Schedule: Expect reports between 8 and 10 pm, due to lateness of EVA.
Maintenance: None.
Food/Essential Supplies Inventory: Very good.
Miscellaneous: Paul informed us that Don left suddenly due to illness in the family. If there is anything we can do to help Don's family or the Whispering Sands, we stand ready to provide assistance, and will keep them in our prayers.
Support Requested: Still need a water re-supply on or before Wednesday, please. We can take care of this ourselves, if alternate means cannot be found. Just let us know.
