Journalist Report
Elizabeth Wolfe Reporting

Today was our last day of sim (but if you ask me we never really started).

Our final EVA involved simulation of a radiation emergency with Irene and me as victims. It was very similar to yesterday's experience, and frankly quite boring since I was pretending to be unconscious the entire time again. I did manage to aggrivate an ant colony before the alarm was sounded, though.

We were supposed to go exploring and mark a new waypoint for the GPS database this afternoon, but as it was raining we were foiled. We commenced with movie watching. P.J. and I took the truck to Hanksville for a final postcard mailing run. When we got back, Yuri's Night started. I cooked up a delicious steak dinner and celebrations began! We all have our glowstick necklaces, the lights are off, the music is cranked, and the balloons are everywhere. Everyone is hurrying to finish their reports so we can start honoring human spaceflight. I'm sure there will be a follow-up report tomorrow. Cheers to Yuri Gagarin!
