EVA Report
Kerry Cupit Reporting

EVA #16 Report

Time:
Departed at 14:07; Returned at 17:25

Crew Members:
John Thaler and Kerry Cupit

Site Location:
3.8 km NW of Hab on Mid Ridge Planitia (along Copernicus Highway), at
soil gas survey site

Transit Mode:
ATV (x2)

Objectives:
Continue soil gas survey with crew geologist. Hoping to complete at
least 4 of the 12 holes remaining in the 18-hole survey.

Cross-train on geology and make stops at interesting geologic sites.

Lessons Learned:
Four holes can be done on a three-hour EVA when accompanied with
cross-training activities, now that equipment is performing at optimal
levels. Once all crew members have been cross-trained, it's fully
expected that up to six holes can be completed per three-hour EVA.
