Cheryl Wartman

Project:
Biology Water quality analysis in a Martian environment: LC50 Daphnia
magna exposed to GreenHab effluent

Personnel:
Cheryl Wartman

Operations Data Collected:
Samples taken for 1, 12 and 24 hour from the effluent exposure of water
from tank after the trickle tanks.

1 hour data (# dead):
0.0 % A = 0 B = 0
6.25% A = 0 B = 0
12.5 % A = 1 B = 0
25.0 % A = 0 B = 1
50.0 % A = 0 B = 2
100.0 % A = 3 B = 4

12 hour data (# dead):
0.0 % A = 0 B = 0
6.25% A = 0 B = 0
12.5 % A = 1 B = 1
25.0 % A = 3 B = 1
50.0 % A = 2 B = 3
100.0 % A = 6 B = 2

24 hour data (# dead):
0.0 % A = 0 B = 0
6.25% A = 0 B = 0
12.5 % A = 1 B = 2
25.0 % A = 0 B = 1
50.0 % A = 5 B = 4
100.0 % A = 1 B = 2

Cumulative data for 24 hour exposure (# dead):
0.0 % A = 0 B = 0
6.25% A = 0 B = 0
12.5 % A = 3 B = 3
25.0 % A = 3 B = 3
50.0 % A = 7 B = 9
100.0 % A = 10 B = 8

Small number of dapnia not used are thriving in hab. Colony
established at MDRS.

Technical/Equipment Issues:
Replacement daphnia have not been received. I plan to allow for a 4
hour acclimation and then exposure when received.

Discussion:
Above data will be analyzed to determine LC50. Tank 4 will be used in
final exposure.

Questions for RST:
None at this time.
