Log Book for February 22, 2008
Special Science Report
Phillip Cunio Reporting

Project:
Smart Small Logistics Container

Personnel:
Arthur Guest (Crew 66)
Phillip Cunio (Crew 67)

Operations Data Collected:
Several baseline trials of SSLC conducted. RFID readers are able to
read most tags. Collection and tagging of items for longer-term trials
and more detailed tests begun.

Technical/Equipment Issues:
Still unable to connect local network to remote server in Cambridge,
although this may be related to issues with the server or with network
connection speed from MDRS. Email workarounds are being used. Some
tags in the SSLC read multiple times, and some do not read at all.
Suspect this is due to the selection of Mountain House freeze-dried
meals as a tracked item, since these are packets of food sealed in
foil.

Discussion:
Complete baseline tests, develop schedule for later tests, and begin
experimenting with compartmentalization and tagging techniques to
maximize read rate on current collection of tracked items. Continue
tagging more items for tracking.

Questions for CSO:
None at this time.
