EVA #06 Report

February 23, 2008

Guy de Carufel

Time:
Departed at 14:32am, Returned at 116
Departed: 14:32pm - Returned: 16:32pm

Crew Members:
Guy de Carufel, Chris Ostafew, Randall Shelaga

Site Location:
West and East of Phobos Peak, Mount Sagewood, East of Hab

Transit Mode:
Pedestrian

Objectives:
Set waypoints for navigation research. Make marks at each waypoint
for later waypoint hunting. Preparatory EVA for next EVA on navigation
research.

Lessons Learned:
Difficult to travel in straight lines in the desert due to land
features such as mounts and valleys. Familiarized ourselves with the
GPS units. Not to wear shorts for long pedestrian EVAs.
