Engineering Report

Chris Ostafew / Aravind Seeni Reporting

Generator/Electricity:

Wendy

Hobbs Meter: 3229.8 hrs [ +19.8 hrs since yesterday ]

Voltage: 112 VAC

Frequency: 60 Hz

Oil Level: 7/8

Oil Pressure: 30 PSI

Water Drained: no

Notes/Comments:
Diesel appears to have stopped leaking. We will continue to monitor it
but will only report anything if it does begin leaking again.
Photos of Wendy's fitting to be sent tomorrow as no work was done on
her today.
On initial startup oil pressure read 50 psi! After re-checking oil
level (which was ok) and starting another time, pressure read 40 psi.
Wendy was re-checked ~40min later and had stabilized at 30 psi.

Xantrex Inverter/Dynasty Batteries:

Time Voltage (Temp Comp) Load Temp Generator Running?
12:40 24.1 07.2 09
No
13:41 21.7 08.3 11
No
18:12 20.1 09.3 12
Yes

Notes/Comments:
Batteries seem to be able to power Hab for between 1.5hrs and 2.0hrs.
Load measurements are taken from the OneMeter but engineering report
only shows space for 120V loads. It might be more meaningful to
include 24 and 12 volt loads in engineering report as well (eg furnace,
GreenHab pumps, water pump...).

Fuel Status (as of 21:02):

[ no change since yesterday ]

Dishwasher Runs: 0

Notes/Comments:
Outside potable and trailer water tank measurements are in units of
inches from the base of the tank.

We were able to pump water from potable water tank to the Hab today.

Some new wiring from the Hab to the GreenHab was performed to initiate
installation of the 24 V Macerator pump. Some plumbing work remains to
be done tomorrow in the GreenHab since the pipe diameter have changed
from the old pump.

GreenHab:

Tire Status: OK

Mars Surface Suits:
Suits 3, 4, and 6 were used. No issues to report.

Appliances:
Hot water doesn't appear to be functioning but was when we first began
our rotation. Will investigate tomorrow. Perhaps the pilot light is
out?

Upgrade Work:
117VAC wire macerator pump was pulled through from Hab to GreenHab
through the 2" grey conduit. We've just read the note that we require
4 wires and will address this tomorrow.
