EVA #09 Report
February 25, 2008
Cassandra Marion

Time:
Departed at 15:03pm, Returned at 17:34pm
Departed: 14:32pm - Returned: 16:32pm

Crew Members: Cassandra Marion, Heather Allaway, Phillip Cunio
Site Location: Hab area and Chandor Chasma
Transit Mode: ATV and pedestrian

Objectives:
Pedestrian travel with the logistics box to see how difficult it would
be with two people. Walk 100m return routes repeated three times.
Biological sampling for halophiles in Chandor Chasma.

Lessons Learned:
All EVA crew learned how tedious logistics box travel can be. The
handles are a tad too small for the simulation gloves. Phillip learned
first hand the biological sample taking protocol and criteria for
sample locations. Heather and Phillip learned about gypsum nodules,
one of which was a metre or more wide that we call the Brain. Phillip
was able to practice his GPS navigation skills.
