Heather Allaway

Project:
Protection by the Regolith

Personnel:
Heather Allaway

Operations Data Collected:
Aravind came out on a second biological sampling EVA for Shannon's
project. He did much better than his first outing since we had an
indoor demonstration and he understood better what was expected.
The EVA was out to Brahe Highway and up Copernicus Highway towards
Muddy Creek. Sample locations are as follows:
BH001-12 S 0517042 4254590 ALTITUDE- 1401m
BH002-12 S 0516347 4254743 ALTITUDE- 1402m
BH003-12 S 0516326 4255252 ALTITUDE- 1374m
BH004-12 S 0516525 4255438 ALTITUDE- 1364m
BH005-12 S 0516708 4255900 ALTITUDE- 1358m
For my project now that the autoclave is working I made away this
afternoon and am going to plate the samples I had previously collected
at Skyline Rim. Some will go into the incubator as is while others
will be placed in the GasPak anaerobic chamber to test anaerobic
capability.

Technical/Equipment Issues:
Autoclave FIXED!!! Program setting was discovered to be wrong. Changed
to recirculated water setting and now completely pressurizes.

Discussion:
Periodic checking of plated samples and sampling for Shannon's project
will continue for one more sampling mission (8 vials left in pack
started by Epsilon).

Questions for CSO:
A way point from Shannon for the end of Salt Wash where she was hoping
samples to come from (we cannot locate the exact location of Salt Wash
on any map).
