Commander's Report
02 March 2008
Veronica Ann Zabala-Aliberto
Today was our first full day on Mars. As we bid farewell to Crew 67 we
started to get our belongings in order and got situated in our Crew
quarters. Our Chief Engineer began to get familiar with the MDRS and
its systems and subsystems. Our HSO and Security Officers began to
determine the cause of the MDRS webcams being down and started to fix
them one by one. The Executive Officer in Training began to organize
our DDRs (Daily Duty Rosters) as well as our daily chore lists. Our
Mission Specialist helped out with HSO and Engineering duties as well.
After all was done, the F.L.A.M.E. Crew went on a very brief EVA to
start their training and show our Chief Engineer how to use our favorite
mode of transportation on Mars.
The Executive Officer in Training and I made a sausage, beef rice, and
baked beans dinner. Our Mission Specialist and Security Officer cleaned
up while the rest of us finished our Daily Reports.
Tonight, we will be adhering to our martian Sol and go to bed at 2200
hrs. It has been a very busy and productive day and we look forward to
our training and initiation of F.L.A.M.E.'s fourth public full
simulation tomorrow evening.
To all our family and friends back on Earth, thank you for all of your
support and prayers. Without it we would not be where we are
today...exploring another world.
