Executive Officer in Training Report

04 March 2008

Angelina Zabala

As our third day on this martian land comes to an end I must say that
it had been a rather interesting day. We woke up on Mars time without
fail and had our usual morning briefing. We kids had our school time
and I have to say I got a lot accomplished. I had planned to have a
fire drill today, but due to our long EVA to Box Canyon, we couldn’t
conduct it. Today was also our first day in full simulation and as we
suited up and helped each other, some memories were brought back of
previous EVAs.
Our EVA today went well and for a while went smoothly
but towards the end some of us were tired and the suits seemed to add
weight. For me, observing some of the crew members it seemed that some
were not getting enough sleep and constantly yawning. Some of the crew
seemed to be a little short on temper but as for now we are all a lot
better. Tomorrow after breakfast and before school time is when we will
place the Fire Drill.
