Log Book for March 25, 2008
Commander's Check-In
Emily Colvin Reporting

Crew Physical Status:
Pretty good, but tired. A few of us have spent too much time in suits
over the last couple of days. And a long time driving ATVs is always a
pain in the right thumb...

Time Departed/Returned from EVA:
EVA 5 (Box Canyon):
Departed 1206
Returned 1455
EVA 6 (Hab Area - Wind Turbine):
Departed 1206
Returned 1343
EVA 7 (Hab Area - Wind Turbine):
Departed: 1909
Returned: 1941

Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results:
EVA 5: Drove to the Box Canyon, with almost complete radio coverage.
EVA 6: Driving the rest of rebar for the wind turbine.
EVA 7: Raising the tower structure and beginning tower assembly for
wind turbine.

EVA Data/Interpretations:
EVA 5: Only lost a bit of voice data down at the lip of the canyon. We
believe stepping up the EVA radio power would have prevented this, but
didn't want to mess with it or prompt a battery change.
EVA 6: Continuation of yesterday's, finished the rebar, "rock is hard".
EVA 7: Gloves slightly impaired assembly, but nothing insurmountable.
Considering VOX in the future, but probably not feasible.

Hab Maintenance:
Continuing work in the GreenHab. All parts have been located for the
hypothetical setup, but we're running into actual implementation
issues. More to come in the engineering report.

Report Transmission Schedule:
Expect Commander's Report, 3 EVA Reports, Journalist's Report, and
Engineering Report, all by 9 (might be running a tad late, we were
hoping to get a few things done before reports).

Plans for Tomorrow:
Candor Chasma and Phobos Peak in the morning, for the radiation study.
Afternoon in the general area of the Hab (rover, incline, radiation are
all possibilities).

Inventory:
We have printing capabilities! Yay! And Elisha has more Splenda and
Kool-Ade.

Support Requested:
None.

Miscellaneous:
Definitely still the Hab - we know what we want to do, we have parts
that we think will do it, and yet it doesn't actually work the way we
want it to.
