EVA #11 Report

March 27, 2008

Dan Crowley

Time:
Departed: 1745
Returned: 1935

Crew Members:
Dan Crowley, Elisha Sanders, and Tulika Raj

Site Location:
Lith Canyon, to the north of the Hab.

Transit Mode:
Foot and ATV

Objectives:
Gather further radio coverage data and explore more of the surrounding areas.

Lessons Learned:
Suits significantly impair grace and mobility. This is especially apparent while attempting actions that emphasize those qualities of motion - like swing dancing. It seems safe to say that doing the Jitterbug in spacesuits on the lip of a canyon is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, no matter how clumsy the man may look. Elisha, on the other hand, seemed to adapt more easily.

Also, the GPS system may be trying to tell us something, as once again the digital packets were telling us to leave Tulika in a ditch.
