Journalist's Report

April 4, 2008

Guerric de Crombrugghe

I was thinking about making a new version of "Walking on the Moon" (The
Police, God bless them), but I guess you'll think that I'm a lazy boy.

Another morning, another question : I'm supporting the Mars Society
with all my soul but do I really agree with the Founding Declaration?
It gives many reason for going to Mars, do I agree with all of them?
Science? For sure! Challenge? Certainly! Martian New World?
Terraforming? No! Definitely! Who said that we need a new world? Who
thinks he has the right to steal a planet? Ok, then why am I working
(voluntarily) under a flag that's not mine? Well, I guess that the Mars
Society and me have the same objective for the beginning : Mars the
Red. We'll see later for Mars the Blue and Mars the Green.

Challenge is the only reason for going to Mars. Science is just a
bonus.

Fifth day on the MDRS, and we already have done so much.

Today was a quiet day for me. The radiotelescope is repaired, and the
operation manual is written. Nothin' else to do! Just wait for the
jovian storm of Monday 7. Fortunately we'll have the plane operational
in a few days, the preparation of the emergency simulation, and the
sample collection for the halophiles project. Job, job, job. I like
that.

That was Crew 70's journalist, from the MDRS, wishing you good night
and good luck.
