Science Report: Geology

The aim of the EVA of today was to analyze the observation method and we did so while making observations of Phobos Peak.
At the bottom we found a conglomerate of rounded gravel, climbing toward the top we found a conglomerate containing cross bedding.
At the peak we observed lichens resembling those at FMARS:
orange coloured colonies at the top of small peaks. Here at the MDRS they were only present at the shady northern side, and not at the southern side of the peak, probably because the latter side is hotter and there fore dryer.
On the way back home some cemented reddish layer were observed at the top of eroded whitish aleurite or munstode.
