Commander's Report

April 18, 2008

Henrik Hargitai

An absolutely anomalous day on Mars. In the morning the generator
would not start. We changed to the secondary generator. After a few
attempts we could power the hab from it. We had about 5 minutes power
outage during the repair, then local support helped to start the
generator. In the mean time, the area under the hab was flooded. We had
not pumped the water from the subsurface tank in the last days, so we
did it now, which solved the problem.
Our troubles were published on the front page of the largest Hungarian
daily newspaper's online edition, as breaking news.
Then EVA10 departed in the pressurized rover for Goblin Valley and it
also took our Geologist to the nearest bus station since he has to be
in Paris after tomorrow. EVA 10 succesfully arrived at 19.40. The
returning Engineer promptly discovered that we have problems with local
WiFi connections which blocks the transmission of data from our
meteorology station. Fixing this problem is on the way.
The returning crew also found the last cargo ship from Earth with some
food and other stuff.
We are continuing our simulation with 5 persons, but we expect a guest
biologist to join us from a nearby Austrian Habitat, sometime in the
next days.
