EVA #20 Report

April 24, 2008

Henrik Hargitai

Time:
1000-1040

Crew Members:
Hargitai H., Boros-Oláh M.

Site Location:
500 m south from the Hab.

Transit Mode:
On Foot.

Objectives:

To collect samples for microbiological analysis that would show the presence of enterobacteria, which is a good indicator of human contamination of the sample. We have taken samples at every 100 m from the Hab, from the surface and from below, and also from several locations inside the Hab. The samples are in the incubator now; first results are expected tomorrow.

Lessons Learned:

- We have left the cameras at the Hab.

- At the foothills there may be a pinkish, 2-3 cm thick weathered layer
but underneath we found whitish sand. Base of the weathered layer is at
about 10 cm of depth in most locations.
