Commanders report CREW90
Sunday, February, 14th 2010
Nancy Vermeulen

Crew physical status: Good, we all recovered well by going out by jeep
the whole day.

This morning started a bit stressed for me as Nora didn’t want to
accept that she failed to do the medical procedure correctly. So I
forced her to do it together with me and to wait until everything was
ok before leaving. The mentality of some crewmembers is: I’ve done it,
so it will be ok and I don’t have to look after it anymore… So we left
a bit later about 9 o’clock.

Then the spirit changed and was excellent during the whole day.
We had our meal outside, so we skipped the food study.
We first visited ‘Arches National Park’ and then ‘Canyonland Park’ in
the afternoon. We saw sunset at ‘Upheaval Dome’, a fantastic
experience that will be graphed forever in our memories. We made nice
pictures as Marsonauts… and explained enthusiast about our mission to
some curious tourists.

We returned quite late but the sky was so beautiful that I deployed my
telescope to show some nice objects like Mars, the Orion Nebula and
some more Messier objects.

To economise water we bought some carbon dishes so we don’t have to
scrub them and use drinkable water for this anymore. We also took some
snow in plastic boxes to wash dirty equipment.
